This...is... the end!!
Now WHAT do we have here now? Another disaster movie starring Mr. 300 himself?? Why yes indeed, except this time the quality of this flick is above par over what Gerard Butler has put out these past few years. Greenland stars our favorite Scottish-accent actor in the role of family man John trying to keep his family safe during an end of days event involving comet debris destroying the planet. Everything becomes a true hell on Earth when John gets separated from his family and has to navigate the destruction and panic amidst the chaos to reunite with them. By now, you've probably noticed its' similarities to 2012 with the exception that Greenland forgoes the smorgasbord of special effects with more emphasis on human drama and the dread of desperation. The film carries a certain quality for this genre that we rarely get to see and although Greenland could've benefited from trimming its' pacing down a bit, it's still an enjoyable disaster flick to watch on a lazy afternoon.
