Taking a walk
If you were to tell me the man who portrayed Oskar Schindler would later become the next big action movie star in his 50s, I would've said you were crazy, and yet here we are in 2015 and Liam Neeson has become an accomplished action A-lister. The actor has been busy the last seven years, starring in many action films such as The A-Team, The Grey, Clash of the Titans, and the Taken series; the latter being the films that redefined him as an action star. In between his action roles, once in a while we see Liam display his drama side; in this case, the drama-noir A Walk among The Tombstones. Based on the Matthew Scudder novels,

Liam plays the main protagonist who is an NYC detective hired by a drug trafficker to identify the men who kidnapped and killed his wife even though he paid the ransom. watching, the more intrigued I became with the plot and the more I wanted to know. Yes, there are gunfights here and there but to my surprise this wasn't the film's only strength. Most of the time, the attention is kept on Liam's character and luckily he carries the weight of the film surprisingly well. Even though it feels as if we've seen him act the same way in his previous films, this time it fits firmly with the tone of the film which makes it all the more entertaining. Granted, this movie is not for everyone; it really is a hard watch considering it deals with alcoholism, corruption and serial killers. In addition, not too many viewers will have the patience to sit through the whole thing. It's not that long but it is very slow-paced. But for those who enjoy noir-like films or just happen to be Liam Neeson fans should gladly take this walk.
