Arrow will come to an end with season 8
It's been reported that Arrow will be ending following it's season 8 run starting in the 2019-2020 fall. The announcement came unexpectedly when the cast of the show had agreed to commit for another yearly agreement to work on the show only to find out later that the next season would conclude the series altogether. Despite many outlets saying the show was cancelled, that's far from the truth. The show has been on the air for nearly 8 years and has consistently been a critical and ratings giant for the CW. The show also paved the way for several other shows such as The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, which wouldn't have ever had the possibility of getting green-lit had it not been for Arrow's success. With those shows now establishing themselves along with Supergirl and Black Lightning finding their footing and
then the aforementioned Batwoman show coming down the pipeline as well the rumor going around that Constantine might be brought back, a lot is owed to what Arrow helped formed. So it makes sense that the show that started CW's superhero TV renaissance for their DC comics properties is ending its' run to allow other heroes their opportunities to get their own shows. The final season will consist of only 10 episodes but it feels sufficient for the show to wrap up all loose ends and give the series a proper closure.
