Light up the dark
The third installment in Pure Flix's God's not Dead franchise continues with A Light in Darkness. Continuing where the second film left off, Pastor Dave (David A. R. White) confronts the controversy facing his church and its' place on campus as to whether it should remain for its' historical significance or removed due to the religious indifference it causes among the students and to an extent, the campus staff. Much like the previous film, A Light in Darkness continues to employ the themes of faith, redemption and repentance while being unafraid to ask the tougher questions such as when is the appropriate moment for Christians to stand up for themselves and where is God in the event of a tragedy? The film is an excellent exercise of how even uncertainty can lead an individual to find truth and how unwavering belief can bring someone back no matter how lost they may be. A Light in Darkness continues to work on the momentum built up from its' predecessor, moving forward in a bright direction for the franchise.
