Taking on the impossible
Some franchises tend to lose steam with each entry that comes by. The Mission Impossible series is one of the rare ones that manages to improve with each entry while upping the ante each time. The latest, Fallout, pulls out all the stops to deliver one intense mission. Following the events from the previous film, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his group continues to deal with the remnants of the Syndicate who have re-formed into a new terrorist cell led by a new leader called John Lark. When a mission goes south putting the team at risk, resulting in the terrorists acquiring plutonium, Hunt has to track them down before chaos ensues. If there's anything that Tom Cruise delivers on, is great stunt work and thrilling set pieces. The story holds up on delivering tension and twists without feeling completely overstuffed with the usual spy stuff, summing it all together into one pf the best action films of year. And while I still hold a soft spot for the first film which I still consider the best one, MI: Fallout just shot up to my second favorite and also one of my personal favorites of 2018.
