Vegas vacation

Picture
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
The first Paul Blart movie was in no means a classic but in the least it managed to tickle my funny bone in a boring afternoon with nothing else to watch. I knew that Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 was going to be one of those movies that you could tell was going to be bad from just looking at it (the trailer pretty much sums it up) and didn't have high hopes that it would be an improvement over its' predecessor, and yet I went and popped it in my bluray player and saw it anyway (I was really bored that day). As you may have heard from all over, the sequel was crappy at best but from my experience, the film wasn't a total disaster as I had thought; although it does take its' ridiculousness beyond even what Adam Sandler has done
with his previous movies. Picking up six years after the first movie ended, Paul Blart (Kevin James) takes a much-deserved vacation with his daughter Maya (Raini Rodriguez) to Vegas after receiving an invitation to the security officer's convention. However, what awaits Paul in Vegas will be a new threat with higher stakes than what he faced at the mall. And that's pretty much the plot in a nutshell. The rest of the film revolves around Kevin James crashing into stuff or falling over so many times (I'm not kidding; I lost track after 30). Like I said, Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 divulges in its' ridiculousness much like Adam Sandler does with his fart jokes; in fact, that's the only respectable thing that this film does that it never reverts to that kind of humor, which isn't saying much. At one point, Paul gets into a physical fight with a crane....and he loses. Clearly, the film has no problem of not being taken seriously and in some way that helps the film be a little more entertaining. Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 isn't a complete mess; it's just the kind of film that you would only see once and not too often. I have no problem admitting that I enjoyed the film but that's about as much praise the film is going to get from me.
