He's a real Nowhere man
Some movies just go straight for nostalgia to help construct the basis of their plot. Yesterday builds it simply around the catalog of Beatles songs and the overwhelming influence the band has carried across several generations since their early beginnings imagining how life would be like if they never existed. The only one who remembers is a simple musician named Jack (Himesh Patel) who makes it his mission to remind people of who the band was while tapping into his own talent to bring to life the group's memorable songs. Yesterday is the ultimate fan-service film for Beatles fanatics all around, boasting some down-to-Earth performances from the cast, a no-nonsense plot despite it's unique premise and some familiar tunes gives the film a surreal yet whimsical feeling that it almost feels like you've seen it before. A film as appealing as Yesterday doesn't come around too often where anyone of any age group can enjoy it, and you'd have a hard time finding someone who isn't a Beatles fan who wouldn't smile from watching this. Yesterday gets my highest recommendation.
